Meet the Designer: Parron Allen
Parron Edwards-Stimola draws inspiration from his upbringing in Lexington, Mississippi, infusing his design vision with heartfelt nostalgia. Rooted in the creative legacy of his grandmother, Momma Ruth, who lovingly crafted dresses for their family using whatever materials were at hand, Parron honors the tradition of Black women who turned remnants into beauty long before sustainability and upcycling became popular.
With a delightful blend of whimsy and practicality, Parron's designs speak to the current moment, celebrating his cultural heritage while embracing sustainability. His innovative collections showcase his talent for incorporating fabric remnants, repurposing discarded textiles, and breathing new life into thrifted garments.
Before establishing his own brand in 2021, Parron refined his design skills through studies in the United States and the United Kingdom and by working with esteemed fashion houses such as Vera Wang, Ellen Tracy, and Rebecca Taylor.
Parron continues to be a pioneer in the sustainable and upcycling space, recently going viral for his loungewear in the mega-series Succession. Join Parron Allen and other designers this weekend at the Parron Allen Marketplace Weekend while tickets are still available.
